MTV's "52 Bands/52 Weeks": Santogold
I saw these the other day while watching MTV. I really like the idea the channel is running with but its too bad they're merely commercials instead of actual shows featuring the music. Please give me more new artists and less "Parental Control" or "My Super Sweet 16"... Nonetheless, Santogold is about to blow up.

Her album has been sitting on my desktop (along w/ 70 other albums I have yet to listen to) for several months now. I am just finishing listening to her album as I type this and I really enjoyed it! Its not amazing but I would def. give it 4/5. Im really diggin the slow tempo songs that she does and how she lets her voice spread over the bars.
As for MTV, there are young music nerds behind the scenes there that follow all of these new/dope artist/music coming up and these little slots are all they get. I like the artist the feature, but I dont think its really effective w/ MTVs demo.
