Exams: The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I got to apologize for my absence, but it's been a lil crazy with midterms, Thanksgiving break and now we a week away from exams. Crazy how fast this semester went by, and dammit if it wasn't one of the best I've ever had. Big props to the football squad at NC Central for their undefeated season and on making it to the second round of the playoffs. I, of course, was at the game last Saturday and I don't know if the refs could have dicked y'all any more than they did. Only loss of the year coming in the playoffs? Nothing wrong with that. Also, big props to my NCCU Marching Sound Machine family on getting invited back to the Honda Battle of the Bands in Atlanta for the third consecutive year... can you say "dynasty"?

Speaking of exams... isn't this just the best time of year? Not to mention the fact that a whole semester of stress is piled into two weeks, you also get to see your friends at their worst. Yeah, she did come out on the yard with her hair still wrapped, wearing Chinese beauty supply store slippers, dirty socks, sweat pants and a "Tommy Gear" jacket. And yeah, he did just pass you in the caf with arms lookin like Ashy Larry and a FUBU jersey from 6th grade (who is #05?). Ahhh... soak in the finals week atmosphere!

I got a lil heat rock for ya while you sit in the library and stare at the same first paragraph for two hours. Nas and Marsha Ambrosius of Floetry have obviously become good friends. They were together on tracks for Hi-Tek's album (Music For Life) and The Game's album (Why You Hate The Game). And again, for Hip Hop Is Dead Nas requested her appearance, along with The Game on his track "Gangstas". Let me know what you think...

Jay-Z takes shot back at Jim Jones

A day after Soundscan put Jim Jones' Hustler's P.O.M.E at 96,000 units sold, Jay-Z had this to say: "What? A little punk-ass buck? That’s ballin’? Well, I guess men lie women lie. It’s over for that ballin’. It’s my turn.” The Dipset capo has been talkin real greasy as of late, even putting up promotional posters for his new album which read, "WHO IS JIM JONES? ASK JAY-Z" and as much as Jay has tried to turn the other cheek its obvious the Harlem boys are working his nerve. On his new album, Kingdom Come Jay comes back at Cam'ron on his track "Dig A Hole" offering this: "Hov gon get you, I ain't forget your little disrespect / no, Hov daddy gon spank you for that shit you said / it's hard to do when you got nothing to prove / everybody know you better you in a lose, lose / cause even when you win, ultimately you lose / real n-ggas like why Hov talking to dude / you sellin low too, only time you went plat/my chain was around your neck, that's an actual fact."
Now with "Brooklyn High" Jay comes mean over Jones' "We Stay Fly" instrumental. "We chase n-ggas around, they own ball game (Rucker) / Ball game n-gga! Its over for you lames / Give me back the chain, its over for you DAMEs"

Brooklyyynnnn!
